My first date with Monday’s Groom was a bit crowded but we managed to have some time to talk and get to know each other a bit better. He was so thoughtful bringing me M&M’s (the Monday’s) and a calendar full of photos of cute Pugs – his little Pug is his pride and joy. In fact, he is trying to convince me to have his dog be the ring bearer! Tonight he and I will get a chance to unwind and see friends as we separately celebrate our stag and stagette parties.

Yesterday I also saw the billboard proposal by Forever Groom. I want to thank him for sweetly and courageously inviting me to accept his proposal rather than pressuring me to do so. I remain committed to Two Strangers and a Wedding and will follow both my heart and my head on that lovely day. I am very lucky indeed as I know I will have his support no matter what. And yes, he definitely caught my attention.

At times like this, this experience seems bigger than me. So for now, I am going to rush and get ready for the event tonight and enjoy the evening. Tomorrow is another day and it can wait!

Monday, your undercover (can’t wait to be in the open) bride

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Wow, in just one week I will finally be able to meet my groom and all of you too! In some ways 7 days seems like it is mere seconds away and in other ways, it seems like a lifetime away! Speaking of lifetimes, I hope to spend mine with one of the amazing grooms that I am getting to know and deciding between this week. There is still one more groom to meet tomorrow. Thursday's groom chose not to continue due to personal reasons.
I wish him the very best and give him my full support for doing what was right for him. In the end, that is all any of us can do.

Tonight I meet again with Lisa Hanslip, the photographers, and also the wedding officiant. Thank goodness Lisa is here to manage all the wedding details. Tomorrow evening I will meet again with Ron Dougan who will go over the groom's personality testing. This will be just one of the sources of expert support, information, and advice I will access to when making my decision. This weekend, you guys will also be voting for your favorite groom and I will consider that factor as well. Monday morning, we will make the big announcement and move ever closer to the wedding day! I have very big decisions to make as intend to enjoy a happy marriage not just an exciting wedding. Until tomorrow...

Today I wasn't feeling well. I think the stress and the pace of this social experiment is catching up with me. Today a story also broke about one of my ex boyfriends who has made his offer to marry me public. I am intrigued by his campaign but I still remain committed to the process of Two Strangers and am enjoying meeting all of my 5 potential grooms this week.

In fact, today I met Tuesday groom who is an engineer (you know Meg and I like our nerdy smart guys!) and he is a gentleman too! In just a few minutes I will be chatting with him and getting to know him even better through the daily late night chat.

Overall, I am so impressed with all the groom hopefuls who have been interviewed or who have made the top 5. I feel lucky to be surrounded by so much support and so many terrific men!

Ladies if you haven't gone for a bra fitting your missing out! I strongly recommend you see Myra at Knickers and Lace. She's helped find the perfect lingerie for my beautiful wedding dress! Even more exciting, Calgary had the chance to meet Man - Day, Monday's exceptional groom! He's bright, funny, clever, family minded and is even a former pro athlete! He's fantastic and the ladies of Calgary have not been shy about saying so! I'm so excited to chat with him for a whole hour to get to know him!

Until next time,

What I didn't expect: To fall for the Energy team and the listeners too!
Here's hoping a groom and I fall for each other too!

It wasn't until my drive home from work that I realised my usual calls with Erin, Zack, and Tripp were coming to an end. I was so nervous the first few times I was on air and each of those first calls to the DJ's. I won't even pretend I didn't sweat my way through that first week! What I didn't anticiapte was how welcoming, supportive, and personable everyone there is. I still get nervous but mostly I look forward to the listener questions and laughing and discussing topics with everyone. The lesson I have taken from this is to enjoy the moment and to step out of your comfort zone anyway. I will remember this when getting to know the grooms -stress less, enjoy more. Sounds simple.

Lastly, through this amazing process, I fell in love with the staff that I did meet in person but also the DJ's that I have never met. Like the greater theme of this experiment, genuine relationships have grown out of only voice connections!  This gives me more confidence as I get ready to chat with grooms next week. Wish me luck okay? It's a huge daunting decision. I am hoping the answer will be obvious to us all. Wouldn't that be cool?!

Tomorrow there is supposed to be a picture of me in the Sun. I’m not sure what to make of this. Hopefully, my identity will be protected until the wedding day arrives! I’ll have to leave that in the capable hands of the Energy management and legal team to sort out. Who knows what tomorrow will bring…

As for the grooms, I look forward to hearing more clips in the morning and maybe more listener questions. I feel very lucky to have so much support as I venture forward, closer each day to the unknown groom! I can’t wait until the top 5 grooms are selected and each has their day on air. Will Monday’s groom be my perfect match? How about Friday? So exciting! I will also be looking forward to your feedback as I pick my final groom. So be sure to take notes!

I spent the weekend relaxing and enjoying some down time with my family and close friends. I ate too much turkey and pumpkin pie and even enjoyed a bit of champagne too! Meanwhile potential grooms were beginning the selection process as they met with the panel of experts. This week will be a busy one for them as they hurry to complete all of their prescreening testing. I remember that race against time all too well!
I also had the opportunity to catch a few on air audio clips of the potential grooms. I didn’t expect to get such an immediate impression from just hearing their voices. All I can say is that I am excited and intrigued! I have full faith in both the process and the people involved so I have no doubt that the emerging finalists will be top quality men. Here’s to us getting to know them better – and thanks for sharing this awesome journey with me.

Being the undercover bride remains exciting. I look forward to my conversations with the Energy team each day. I know I will miss them all when life reverts back to normal – whatever normal will look like once the wedding day arrives! However, I am starting to get worn down. I look forward to a lazy, unstructured Saturday where I can make up for weeks of minimal sleep and maximum emotion! Last night we chose the cake, flowers, and music. I also made the final decision on my dress. I absolutely adore the dress! Now we are off of to Kure to dress the bride’s maids. I expect those dresses will be just as lovely. Until tomorrow…

David, Lee, Heather, and the girls at S2 Bridal made the dress shopping experience a true fairytale! They had champagne, strawberries and sushi waiting for us. The shop is elegant and the dresses are to die for! I literally fell in love with three of them. It is amazing how when something is right you just “know”. I am hoping it will be the same with the potential grooms! Today I managed to narrow it down to two dresses that honestly fill my heart with joy just to wear them!

Tonight my dad, my sister, and my friend will join Lisa and myself as we sample delicious Buttercream cake, decide on the flowers, and chose the music. Until tomorrow…

The schedule for a bride-to-be is intense, especially when you are the Two Strangers and a Wedding bride! I have been trying to get used to the early starts while still having full days and late nights too. Hanging out on the radio with Freeway and Meg is so much fun so I manage to keep up the pace (for now). There was extra incentive today as Life Spa hosted us and I enjoyed an indulgent aromatherapy massage followed by a beautiful French manicure. Thank you!

Most girls dream of the perfect wedding dress and I have no doubt that Lisa will help me find mine tonight at S2 Bridal! She’s at the top of her game and I am hoping to get some advice on how she manages to pull it all off with such grace. I haven’t forgotten about the potential grooms either. I’m certain that the expert panel is busy sorting through applications in the search for an extraordinary top 5. So until tomorrow…

Monday, October 6, 2008

Wow, today was a big day indeed!  It was cool to meet the other brides. They were each terrific and I can see why they had some many supporters and votes too! I was pretty much in shock when the reality of being chosen as the bride set in. Now another stage of the social experiment begins. While the experts start accepting and screening my potential groom, I will be getting to do fun and girlie things this week. Tomorrow my maid of honor (my sister) and I will enjoy much needed and appreciated spa treatments at Life Spa!  Then, I will rush to work and try to keep my mind on working as I get very excited to meet Lisa Hanslip and then try on wedding dresses at S2 Bridal. This is going to be amazing! I hear they are spoiling us with champagne and sushi while I find the perfect dress!

Thank you again to all who voted for me and to the experts who chose me to be the bride in this once in a lifetime venture to find blind love!
